During the first World War Raversijde got his part of the damage.
On the east side of Raversijde there were guns of the batteries Cecilia and Beseler, on the west side the batteries Antwerpen and Aachen. |

The museum Stracké was demolished at the beginning of the first World War
to make place for the guns of the batteries Cecilia en Beseler. The Swiss cottages of the Royal family were pulled down and many houses were destroyed by the bombardments. |
